2009-2010 Dance Program

The dance program is designed to run in semesters concurrent with the school year. Registration is open throughout the year, however, registrations taken after December 1 will not be allowed to participate in the June Recital, as costumes will have already been ordered. We offer the following:

  • Ballet

  • Pointe

  • Tap

  • Jazz

  • Lyrical

  • Hip- Hop

  • Theatre Dance

  • Irish Step

  • Pre K Classes

  • Tambourine & Banner Dance

  • Gymnastics

  • Cheer Gymnastics

  • other specialized classes

The levels will be from basic through advanced. Classes are available for children age 2.5 and above. For pre-kindergarten we offer a variety of combination classes including ballet/tap, ballet/gymnastics and tap. All dance classes are 45 minutes or 1 hour, Please see the actual schedule for class times. Please read the following class regulations before registering your child for any class.

Tuition


Tuition payments are due by the 1st of the month! (Tuition fees are non-refundable)

FOR ALL NEW STUDENTS:

  • The registration fee and the first month's tuition is due at registration. The registration fee will register the student for the school year that runs until the end of June.

  • A valid credit card must be kept on file in order to register. All tuition payments not received by the 15th of the month will be automatically billed to your credit card on file.

  • Registration fees are not refundable. You may withdraw from any class in a semester by giving written notice to the office prior to the first day of the next month. If written notice is not received by the first of the month, you are obligated to pay the tuition payment for that month.

  • We accept cash, checks, money orders, Visa, Mastercard and Discover. You can choose auto-debit to have your monthly payments directly charged to your credit card or pay by cash or check every 3 months.

  • For those students who wish to be in the end of year recital a costume is required. A $70 Costume Fee is due by October 1st. You may pay off your costume(s) in up to 3 installments, however, all orders must be paid in full by December 1st. No Exceptions!


Rates


  • Registration fee - $ 15- Registration fee and first month or trimester tuition due upon registration. (Registration fee is non-refundable).

  • Recital Fee: (Due May 1st) - $ 30.00 (includes 5 tickets to the recital), Additional tickets may be purchased if available.

  • Costume Fee of $70 per costume is due October 1st, (Includes tax, and shipping cost)

  • Recital fee is due on May 1st


Class rates for all classes

1. Monthly rate for 1 class per week - $45 per 45 min class; $50 per 1 hr class
2. Monthly rate for 2 or more classes per week - 50% off all additional classes
3. Private Lessons - $25 per 1/2 hour weekly class; $40 per 1 hr class
4. Adult Classes - $120 per 10 class card (for 45 min classes; exp. 3 mo from date of purchase)
5. Theatre Workshop -$125 for each 12 class session.

• Late fee $15 after the 15th of month in which tuition is due, unless prior payment arrangements have been made. There will be NO exceptions. If payment or payment arrangements have not been made by the first day of the following month, re-registration will be required.
• ALL FEE PAYMENTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. RETURN CHECK CHARGE OF $35
• Missed tuition payments- If you are paying on a monthly basis and decide not to pay for one month, you must re-register your child before resuming classes.

Regulations



Class Registration

1. Pointe work is restricted to qualified students 10 years of age or older.
2. Pointe shoes should not be ordered until recommended by the teacher.
3. A placement class or teacher recommendation is required for all new students.

ATTENDANCE:

Credit will not be given for unexcused absences. After 3 unexcused absences from class, we will assume that your child has dropped out of class without notice to us. In order for your child to keep pace with their classmates, missed classes must be made up if possible. What qualifies as an excused absence? School Closings due to the weather, Snow Closings, National Holidays or *Illness.

*If you have an ill child please call the studio prior to their scheduled class time to advise us or bring a note from the physician. Thank you for your cooperation. MAKE-UP for MISSED CLASSES: Any missed class may be made up in a similar level class within one month of the missed class. Check with the instructor for recommendations. No refunds or deduction will be made for missed classes, except in the event of a serious prolonged illness or injury when a written doctor's statement is provided. The school year runs from September to June. If any classes are not held due to bad weather, make-up classes will be scheduled.
Please call the studio for studio closing information due to inclement weather.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Refund/ Withdrawal

1. Tuition is not refundable. NO refunds will be given for classes missed because of a student's personal schedule. (See Make-Up Classes.) In the event of a prolonged illness or injury which prohibits dancing, a doctor's statement is to be presented to the Administrator in order to secure a refund.
2. Registration fee is not refundable.
3. No refunds on class cards.
4. You may withdraw from any class in a semester by giving written notice to the office prior to the first day of the next month. If written notice is not received by the first of the month, you are obligated to pay the tuition payment for that month.
5. Once costumes are ordered, costume payments are not refundable.
*Notification of withdrawal from classes must be submitted to the Administrator in writing.

Dance Attire
(No street shoes allowed in the dance studio!)
• Pre K Ballet/Gym/Tap Combination Classes: A pink leotard, pink tights, & pink ballet slippers are required. A pink ballet practice tutu is also required, (available at the studio). Ballet slippers or bare feet may be worn for gymnastics. Black tap shoes with rubber on the bottom are required for safety reasons. Ballet dancers please pull ALL of their hair back into a pony tail, braid or bun if possible. Bedroom slippers do not qualify as proper dance attire.
• Ballet Classes: A leotard, tights, & ballet slippers or pointe shoes are required. A romantic length ballet tutu or practice skirt is required. Ballet dancers please pull ALL of their hair back into a pony tail, braid or bun if possible. Bedroom slippers do not qualify as proper dance attire.
• Jazz or Hip Hop: A black leotard and black jazz pants, black jazz shoes or jazz sneakers, int/ adv students may wear character shoes.
• Hip-Hop: Loose comfortable clothing is advisable. Hip-hop sneakers, cheerleading or other dance sneakers with non-marking soles or jazz shoes. No street shoes!
• Tap: A leotard and tights, or unitard, appropriate tap shoes, int/adv classes may wear character shoes with taps.
• Theatre Dance: Black leotard, flesh colored tights, black practice skirt or jazz pants, character shoes with a heel except in beginner classes,
• Gymnastics/Tumbling: A leotard or unitard with shorts or footless tights, absolutely no street shoes, gymnastics shoes with rubber soles or bare feet. Hair should be in a pony tail, or bun that doesn’t interfere with tumbling or headstands. (Twin braids or ponies are recommended) absolutely no hair in face and all hair must be secured.
• Please note: No character shoes with hi-heels in any beginner classes
• All classes require hair to be secured in some fashion, no loose hair.

Theatre Programs
At On Broadway, we offer group and private classes in Traditional Theatre, Theatre Dance and Musical Theatre.

• Theatre Workshop covers Scene Study, Improvisation & Audition Technique as well as Commercial Acting which includes Voice Over, Commercials, TV, Soap Operas, & Film. This program prepares the actor for auditions and also offers direction and casting leads. *See our current brochure for more complete information.
• Children's Theatre Company, which involves children ages 5 and up in dancing, singing and/or acting in one or more of our semi annual Theatre Presentations. Please inquire at the studio for more detailed information.

Vocal Program

• Vocal lessons: $25 for 1/2 hour $40 for 45 minutes, payable one month in advance.
• We require a 24 hour cancellation notice.
• 1 absence per month may be made up within 30 days, at teacher’s discretion.
• No credit will be given for time not paid in advance or rescheduled time not used.
• Inclement weather closings will be credited towards next months tuition.
• If payment is not received by second lesson, the lesson will be cancelled until account is paid up to date.
• Each student must sign an acceptance statement upon registration.
